The Wirral is not the kind of place you 'pass through' so I know many of you are very excited about visiting for the first time. Here are but a few of the many attractions the Wirral has to offer, to spend the afternoon, or the day after the wedding...
From Wirral Country Park (CH61 0HN) you can walk along the coast on the top of the cliff, or on the beach, looking over the River Dee to Wales and to Hilbe Island. There is also a visitors centre. Wirral Country Park is about 20 min drive from Meols.
Brimstage Hall Craft Centre and Family Farm (CH63 6JA), with activities for children, who can feed the animals, and tea shops and craft exhibitions for the grown ups. Brimstage Hall is about 20 min drive from Meols.
The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum (CH43 4UE) has one of the best collections in the North West, is Free to get in and is open till 5pm.
There is a cinema at Conway Park - get the train and turn right out of Conway Park station. There is a shopping centre opposite the cinema. You can get the train back to the reception venue by getting off at Leasowe station.
Or you could just pop down to the local for a meal...
